VIDEO: Where Did You Go To College? Who Cares?

I don’t care how smart you are, or how talented you are, or even what college you went to.  When it comes to launching your own company, that stuff just doesn’t matter.  No one is going to be reviewing your resume or calling your references.  No one is going to seek details on your transcripts or gauge the school you graduated from.  After all, it’s you who is starting the company.

What does matter is how smart you BELIEVE you are, how talented you BELIEVE you are, and how important you BELIEVE your schooling was.  Here’s the deal bucko, we achieve what we believe.  So maybe you struggled through the local county college courses or perhaps you “out-scholared” the scholars at Princeton.  Who cares?  That stuff just doesn’t matter, but you have to BELIVE it doesn’t matter.

As long as you believe you are destined for success the likelihood of actually achieving it is 100 times greater than if you believe your achievements will be mediocre at best, even though you may have all the qualifications to be a big shot.   Over all things, know that it is your thoughts, those little conversations going on inside your head that are determining your accomplishments.  And, just like the college you went to (or didn’t) doesn’t determine your future, neither does any other element about your history.  The only thing determining your success is the beliefs you hold about yourself now and in the future.

So, forget your history.  Going forward know that this is your formula for success:

• Follow your passion
• Be persistent
• Truly believe in your own success

It’s so simple, even a Harvard grad can understand it.
