Billionaire real estate mogul Donald Trump may be interested in a piece of property at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in the nation's capital.
That's right – Trump could be gearing up for a 2012 presidential run.
While the kingpin has yet to decide whether he'll throw his hat in the ring – a decision is expected by June 2011 – Trump reportedly said that taking aim at the presidency could be a good experience.
"It could be fun because I'd like to see some positive things happen for the country," he indicated on ABC's "Good Morning America" on November 18.
Trump told GMA that he thinks the U.S. is getting pushed around. If elected president, he would get tough on China, which has been accused of artificially devaluing its currency. (If China were to let its yuan rise, American exports would get more competitive on the global market.)
"They feel we're fools," Trump said of the Chinese businessmen he knows.
If he does decide to run, Trump would be on the Republican ticket – and he said he could spend as much as $200 million of his fortune on a White House bid. Will he make the move from entrepreneur to elected official? Stranger things have happened.
